I agree, that looks pale relative to BMM - though, as with so many colors, lighting, etc may be the issue. I've posted it before but here's an original '65 BMM Jazz Bass I used to own - and the car, too (though it's a '59 Oldsmobile color)

I'm pretty sure that bass belongs to someone I know in the T-bird club thread, and if so it's a recent refinish. Thanks for letting me know about that BMM thread - I'll have to visit. It just so happens I'm having my '93 American Standard J refinished in that colour by MJT. (with mild relic'ing) Like most Fender colours (and this one especially due to the Gibson overlap) it comes in many shades/versions. Just google BMM guitar/bass and you'll see the wide variety.

This is the 'version' I specified - it starts out like the colour above (lacquer) and has a translucent amber clear-coat on top to warm it from lavenders to a dusty rose, avoiding outright pink. It's a very classy colour BMM.

A younger me with that same car:

I repainted it circa 1987 or '88. The original color was similar ("Woodrose Metallic") but just too much beige in the mix. Went to the old school auto paint store where they had the binders with paint chips and found the Oldsmobile color which was similar but much nicer in my opinion and opted for that without knowing it was BMM. In the early 80's I found a 'hippy refin' '64 Jazz Bass and discovered the BMM connection and refinned that one in that color - and then the original '65 presented itself. Sold the refin '64 (to the bass player in the band "4 Non Blondes").

That's what I think of as an 'accurate' looking BMM. A lot of the reissue ones looked quite different.

Anderson Canyon - which is topographically the most similar piece of property to Esalen. Esalen is about 3 miles south of McWay. However, I also lived at Esalen extensively (my father was one of the two co-founders).

Yep! That was my yard as a kid. Rent on the entire property was $35 a month. Sold about 10 years ago for $32M... Henry Miller had lived in the same house.

That was a brilliant way to end the show. The Coke commercial is considered one of the best if not "the best" commercial ever made. Leading one to wonder if Don found peace and still continued in advertising? Finding peace is like saying, "I am happy with what I have and who I am," while advertising drives you feel like you need something else or to be something else to find happiness.
