If my name was Dave I think I'd have to make that my avatar pic. That's awesome.

Thanks man! This was the original photo. If my name was Dave I think I'd have to make that my avatar pic. That's awesome.
I think the owner is a member here on TB - and it lives in Italy. For some odd reason, have seen a number of Fiesta Red dot neck/binding/lollipops come out of Italy in particular. I got my '66 in Spain.
Dave shreds...

Not incredibly distressed. It's a Roadworn, so all factory. But, I and everyone else love the thing. Just put piccolo strings on, may replace the fretless neck with a fretted down the road.
I agree here.As I've said in the past, if I ever come across one for the right price - I'd be all over it. I played one in a music store in the Haight (Haight St Music - closed before this virus thing - another Bay Area real estate/internet competition travesty) and it checked all the boxes. I'd use it to "relic" further/more authentically as the factory 'relic-ing's pretty generic. A really good Fender Jazz bass otherwise.
Looks like someone made it a fretless.
Someone did.. I bought it this way, and it's been a great fretless. As I've said in the past, if I ever come across one for the right price - I'd be all over it.
