I like your assignment! I taught college-level art and one of my concepts was similar - find pictures that were filled with provocative visual information and invent/tell stories about them. Great for stimulating creative thinking through thoughtful perception and articulation.

Here's what I could relocate from my files - I couldn't find a pic of the hs unfortunately. I think it was from an ebay auction years ago ('09), but I can't remember.

Mine look pretty nasty in person but it's hard to capture with a camera.

For Fender, it is a low production vintage bass only produced for 6 months early in '66. It would be interesting to know just now many were made. They made a dot/bound necked J in 1983, but w/the 3 bolt/bullet truss, late 70's hs logo. (and the edge-of-fingerboard hugging 3 screw bridge) Not sure how collectable these are - I've only seen a pic of one in "The Fender Bass" book.

Is that a RoadWorn body? And is it a custom made neck? If you have some shop skills, you can grind off the top hump of the paddles on the tuners you have, file and buff the edges for pops that are more accurate the the Hipshot's. (as long as you're starting w/the big-plate 70's/Getty Lee Fender tuners)

JIO. The body is from my VM fretless, I relic'd it a lot but it's poly and isn't too convincing close up. I put QP's in it and found a very cheap (but very good) pickguard on Amazon. The neck was made by a little company called TP guitars, based in the north of England, I found it on eBay. The tuners are Wilkinson vintage and are excellent, so I won't fiddle with those. A company called Madison's make aged lollipops which are nicer than Hipshots, perhaps I'll get a set of those one day.
I made the decal myself from scratch.

Nice! Yes, I've seen the Madison pops and like mine they are more authentic. They do relic'd or I think if you request - non-relic/fresh. Their price is right - the ones on mine were done years ago by someone doing as I spoke of and were the same price. enjoy!

AFAIK the Madisons are Gotoh's with the top of the ear filed off.

They are still nice all the same.
