Well, that’s not something you don’t see every day! I like the red, black and white colorway. The control knobs are reminiscent of the Hofner teacups. The gold tuners are a nice touch too.

Well, that’s not something you don’t see every day! I like the red, black and white colorway. The control knobs are reminiscent of the Hofner teacups. The gold tuners are a nice touch too.

Once I got my Burns of London Vista Sonic, I became a big fan of Burns and it's history which included Fenton-Weill. I have a couple of Burns books that tell the story - Jim Burns was the Leo Fender of the UK.

A while back on tb, many people shared your opinion. Once Hipshot (?) came out with their mini-lollipop tuners, many people & brands installed them on their basses. I've been a fan of lollipops for as long as I've known about them (a while ) and I actually am not a fan of these mini-versions - they lack design grace. I favor original '66-'68 Fender pops and Gotoh's more recent unbranded lollipop tuners.

And I'm not against mini-lightweight tuners - my faves in that regard are Sperzel locking tuners which I have installed on a number of my custom builds.

The other aspect is when someone installs mini tuners on a bass that had full-sized tuner-plates. I get it... an attempt at relieving a design flaw. But then there's all the left-over holes. (even if plugged) ... oh well - most people could care less.

FCS distressed finishes... some are good and some just ok. I like this one for a few reasons.

Very cool - it must have spent some time 'sun-bathing' to have all the red disappear on the front! Are those divisions where the neck was taped-off and sanded? And is that the original pg? Thanks for posting
