Show Your Fiesta Red Basses!

More Fiesta Red goodness. My parts build that started off as a somewhat meh looking MIM Artic White P body with a Mighty Mite neck. Now transformed to a Fiesta Red Masterpiece. Nordy NP4 pickup with a Kelling Sound wiring harness. GOTOH vintage reverse tall stem tuners. Red tort pickguard. Plays out great with very low action. Finish work done by a very good friend of mine who's really good at finishing. He also shaved down the neck a bit and rolled the edges. Feels like a bass you've played for years.

How is that little white Mesa? I considered getting one but I already have a really good sounding office amp. (Acoustic B20/1X12) Is the Mesa a 12 or 15?

I love it! It’s been some time since being able to use it with the 12x1 extension cab, but it’s one of the best sounding amps Ive had the pleasure of playing. It’s a 12 plus a bottom radiator speaker.

That is cool - I might have to see if they are still available. I have a 650w Basis M-2000 head that is awesome - basically two amps in one (tube/FET). Mesa Boogie rocks! :bassist:

Faded Fiesta '66 - over sunburst (inspired by liverbird)

Note how differently the color photographs depending on the light (natural light - not sunny - in the first one).

Beautiful! I remember when you first had this done about a year ago, IIRC. Fiesta Red is one of those mysterious colors that can look different depending on lighting. There’s also the Salmon Pink variety spawned in England to further ad to the confusion on this color. Nice specimen and whale bone there too.

Thank you! Yes, I was sort of also inspired by the 'Selmer refin' color as well. And saw one bass that was in South Africa and extremely sun faded. This is just Fiesta Red with a little white mixed in. I like that it has also taken on a slight orange hue as the clear has yellowed a bit further over this last year. It goes more in this direction when in the sun as well:

The reds and blues are all really tricky to photograph.
