Alembic started using the "Alembic" script under the logo in 1987 and stopped using it in 2003 (style change according to Susan)
They will put the script on new basses when requested and some older Alembics may have gotten a script under the logo after a refinish or repair (only at Alembic's place, they don't send out logo's/scripts)
