It's been a rather good bass, although it has its electronics issues. The Varitone is pretty noisy, for example. I'll probably rip it out at some point, and might do some other electronics mods as well. Even so it currently has some pretty sweet tones, and the looks are something you don't find in any modern basses.
P.S. Steve Harris having one (back in the 80s) might've also influenced my purchase.![]()

I've got a J.K. Lado & Co Solo lefty bass from 1983 that belonged to Chris Brockway who was the bass player for Lee Aaron "Metal Queen" and was used on their tour in 1985 being played in several different countries. I also have the original flight case used on tour.
Here's a video of this same bass being played on tour in 1985 followed up by pics:

After easily 6 or 7 years I've finally tracked down not one but two Lado's. The 1995 Lado medallion is a 1 of 1 custom ordered. The H400 is serial number 32 and has been used and abused but what a player! I picked the medallion up in the summer and just got the H400 over the weekend. Still in the midst of cleaning it up, the original owner had sharpied the p bass pup! Will post more photos soonThat is so sweet lookin man, lucky guy!
