And then my Les Paul Jr. Tribute, why Gibson stopped production of these is beyond me but, that's Gibson.

Probably because they were very slow movers at $1000. But when the blew them out for $500 they flew out of stores. With all of the brand new NR, Gene Simmons, and Rex Brown Thunderbirds still available from dealers I don't expect to see Gibson investing much in future of bass sales.
