It never made sense to me to put the louder pickup near the bridge.

I notice anyhow that Hot pup close to the bridge is the rule for guitars because it gives a balanced ouput.

This is due to the string movement amplified as you get further to the bridge, the power output grows along this string movement amplitude.

I just remove my J bridge from my Squier Precision PJ because of the weak unbalanced tone I got from it compared to the fat split-P tone. Together it was a pity. Hot jazz pup in bridge is a must imho to get a consistant sounding.

I've gone the old DeLuxe way getting the bridge jazz humbucker and I have now a fine output balance (and that good massive look).
