Oh man - is that a 2011 Closet Classic Precision Bass Pro?!?!?! Ever since I saw those I have been DYING for one :hyper::hyper::hyper:

To be honest, if it had a maple neck with black block inlays it would be nigh-perfect, but I would take it as is any day of the week. Easily one of the best things Fender has released in recent years.

How does it sound/play? Got any samples?

Yep it is. It plays fab. Really melts into your hands. If you click on my band's site in my sig and click on the "music" tab, on the bottom rhs, there's tracks from our press pack. I play this bass on "8 days a Week" (pick) and "Remedy" (fingers, tuned C#,G#,C#,A#) (edit) and "No Matter What". Sorry to have you wade through that, but only clips I have.

Yeah - I've never gotten to play a Dingwall (which I'm totally intrigued by) but I can't get over the look. Their own designs don't bother me, but I'm such a traditionalist that the slanted pickups on that throw me every time.

Anthony - I dig the tracks. Super-pro production, and the band is nice and tight. I also like the singer's take on Eight Days - I admire that he doesn't go for Macca's phrasing and just does his own thing.

And BTW - the bass sounds fantastic. One of these days I'll get my hands on one and try it out.

I have 2- neither one's a Fender but they're both P-J's.

I've owned others over the years- Spector NS-2A, Charvel 3B, Yamaha BB614, Alembic Exploiter, but these are the ones I still have.

Same here. So I built a rip-off version out of two SX's. :D

With flats, it totally does what I was looking for, and from about 5 feet away it looks like what I'd want it to look like. Someday I'll rebuild the same thing out of Warmoth parts, but it's fine for now.

My Sexy Beast!

A 2008 Squier Standard P-Bass Special in metallic satin pewter with matching headstock, no less. This was the bass that pushed me into the Deep End. It's a love affair! :D

And my current traveling bass, a 2001 Squier Standard P-Bass Special with a self-painted pickguard (my personal preference with a sunburst finish).
