I wish I could say I used all this gear at once! :ninja: But I create my own Rigs of Doom from these speakers. My Doomiest rigs are:

HT115/HT310 stack
NV610 all by itself

P.S. As you can see, old picture. For trainspotters: the speakers have stayed the same but some rack modules have changed. My current preamp inventory is as follows (alpha order):
Ampeg SVP-Pro
Read Purity
SWR Interstellar Overdrive
Tech 21 SansAmp RBI

I don't have a favorite. My gig choice depends on the sound I'm going for, the speakers I'm using, and what kind of overdrive I need (if any)!

Took this photo last Friday! The rack contains SWR Interstellar Overdrive, SansAmp RBI, Stewart World 2.1. Guitars are Benavente, Sadowsky. The cabinet of course is a Bergantino NV610.

This was an outdoor gig... but we played in a big open-sided baggie (tent) due to threat of rain. I happened to find my modern-rock tone with the RBI so I went with that over the IOD. My other rack has Ampeg SVP-Pro and Read Purity... I just love having choices. :)

Peavey ProBass1000 pre - Efectron JR delay - Behringer Composer Pro gate/compressor/limiter - QSC RMX1450 - Peavey 215 & Eden 12 coax in some monitor wedge.

The 215 was $5.00, though I've likely spent $100 on it so far. Rat fur off, bed liner paint on; 1/4 TS off, dual Speakon on; missing grill cloth, and casters replaced.

215 for meat, coax 12 for clear mids, and highs. Sweat!

Someday I'll build a box for the Eden, that more closely resembles is original box.

Sweet looking amp! what is it:hyper:
It's a Lawrence amp, mad in Lawrence, KS who knows how long ago. It's got two 15"s and a solid state power amp. I think the speakers are JBLs. That's about all I know, 'cause there's no info anywhere on the net. I got it for free from a guy who had it sitting in his basement.

While I can tell you that an 8x8 will handle a low B- my old one did,I am curious about the strings you are using on that Spector.
Which ones are they? How do you keep it tuned? What's your thinking? Looks like quite a string spacing from the picture anyway...

DR hi beams mixed with DR Extras (the black ones). theres no real noticable difference in tone once the strings wear in (one or two days of playing). tuned BEADG. the string spacing is 16mm IIRC.

why? i dunno, looks mainly, just something different.

as far as how Henry handles the low B, its a crisp, clear, shake your bones low B. i was a bit worried about that before i bought it but ive been playing through it at my local shop since it came in (i really am there way too much) and ive played a variety of basses through it, so i knew how it would perform.

and i definately recomend it to anyone, just dont be surprised when the noise complaints come in, esp if you live in an appt complex like i do....i havent even taken that little hartke amp past 2 on the volume and im already shaking the walls:bassist:

Umm, a Jerzy Drozd AND a Whappo Jr?!?!?!

Damn that's killer.

(for a newb... :smug: )

Now we just need to talk about the 350x...;)

Ha Ha!!

Thats funny! Hey, one thing at a time!

But that thing is kind of out of place. I was going to use the kia with 24k gold rims analogy, but thats a bit harsh, SWR isn't that bad!!!! It just sticks out next to the rest of killer stuff you've got there.

I say, if you love your SWR, more power to you (no pun intended!)

...............but, if you've never heard your jr. with a high powered head or amp, you don't know what your're missing!!!
