It's not his, the rig is mine and I let him use it sometimes depending where he is playing. Also, he is 11 not 10.

Instead of traditional, its a purely digital approach.
Think of it as a 1.5KW powered monitor that can be broken down into parts to be easily transported:
- Cable bag (w/sats inside).
- Processor (BNX3) case.
- 2 X 4U racks.
- 1 X 15" cab.
The output is very clean and it can be very flat (I like to beef up the 30 - 80Hz range w/EQ).
Everything else (cabinets, amps, FX, etc.) is progammed in my PC and uploaded into my digital processor, for digital emulation.
For recording I rely purely on my hands and instruments for tone, using direct signal only. In mixing I can flavour the tones as required (for any track section) using my processor.
For live I can follow studio presets, or just build some crazy, hugh-jass stacks inside my processor. Like an SVT w/8X10 on my left and a GK w/Hartke 4X10 and folded 18" on my right, or meld them and add more, or what have you.
I takes a LOT of power to emulate bigass tube amps, carry heavy bottom, etc. Hence the 1.5KW 4U of power amps.
I know this is not the 'chosen' path, but then again, I don't play jazz, or Latin House for DINKs, or canned bass, or blues.
Note: I have never, ever picked a cotton ball. In fact I have never even seen one.
I play rock.
Note: I play classical too, but that's ONLY between me and my electric basses.
This thing gets pretty loud...
With all respect, but a lot of rigs posted here don't qualify as doom imho, but rather as regular. But this cab... THAT is a rig of doom!

Wow.....and I just absolutely love that bass aswell.
For an amp, have you tried out the Genz Benz 750? It would sound just insanely huge with those cabs!
Ummm. Wow. That makes me very scared. I thought my 6 was a monster... that thing makes my wrists hurt just looking at it.
