The bolt on full Maple are a little brighter than the topped ones with the mahogany backs. The mahogany backed ones are really smooth. That is really the only difference tone wise.

Crown inlays don't do anything tone wise, I prefer the clean necks without the dots/inlays. Do you know which preamp is in it? They used 3 in this time period, Tone Pump, Aguilar and EMG.

No idea what pre it has in it. Its definately stock though.
The pickups are EMG, the HS version. Its a clean neck no dots :) .
So besides it being slightly brighter I can expect the same thing as the current ones they are producing?
I played a Korean model one the other day and that amazed me, am I going to pluck the first note and die due the shock I get because of the jump in sound and quality?

Which pre should I be hoping it has in it in your opinion, could you describe the differenced between them?

Yeah Pok, I pulled the trigger on mine when i saw how much you liked yours!
I've had it for just over a day now and on my small home practice amp it sounds beautiful! Am very happy it did not have the tone pump now that I've heard it with the Aguilar. Calms the bass down a bit! Seems to have a bit more of a punch.

yeah, i think the aguilar is much better. the only thing i'm not crazy about is the bridge...a bit hard to adjust the intonation and whatnot...but thats a small complaint :) how much did you end up paying for it?

What I do is leave the string up to tension, release the hex screw that locks the saddles in, then grab the saddle with my thumb and forefinger to move it. Adjust tuning, check intonation......wash, rinse, repeat. Lock the set screw back down, and you're done.

It's pretty easy, and very quick once you get the hang of it.
