The bolt on full Maple are a little brighter than the topped ones with the mahogany backs. The mahogany backed ones are really smooth. That is really the only difference tone wise.I have been offered a 2002 5 string U.S.A Spector.
What are the differences to the current ones and the ones back in 2002?
I have realized the neck is missing the crown inlays but thats purely asthetic. I also see that the body is completely flame maple, what tonal changes will this bring about?
Please tell me what to look out for and what I'm gaining or missing out on!
Crown inlays don't do anything tone wise, I prefer the clean necks without the dots/inlays. Do you know which preamp is in it? They used 3 in this time period, Tone Pump, Aguilar and EMG.
