I'm a day late for National Puppy Day, but this was Otto almost 8 years ago fresh off of being rescued. All paws and snout and love.

Those spitz types are tough as nails. Independent minded too!My mom had an old breed spitz like that. Although she could come off as a high-maintenance dog, due to being so fluffy and all, actually she was still pretty outdoors. Since she had all that fur, she loved to just go out and flop down in the snow for hours, or lay out on the porch no matter how cold it was. We built her a sort of cave out of blankets and she loved it out there, no matter how cold it was. She often had to be bribed with dinner to come inside.
