Wee Maude went up to rainbow road a couple of months ago very suddenly. I have to say it was the worst night of my life - I've lost a lot of people over the years and my best buddy Blue a few years ago but this came with no warning or notice.

Working from home has been excruciating to say the least. There's a charity I've been following for a while as we had wanted to get her a companion for a while. A few wines on a Friday and this girl urgently needing a new home, Maren joined us on the 17th October:

She's 7 months old, a Romanian rescue, been in foster care for the last 3 months. GSD/terrier mix (as well as many others). She's a great girl, very clever. I forgot how much work (albeit rewarding) training and dealing with a puppy is! We initially didn't like the name until we found a definition of it which is essentially 'of the sea'. Both of our dads are sailors, so seemed apt. And also meant we didn't have to train a new name. :D

So sorry about Maude's passing. :crying: Losing a pupper is a gut punch. Losing one without warning is a double gut punch. Much sympathy for you.

I feel your pain, man. Lilla's death was a tragedy for me and I must pass in front of her street every single day to go to work. It will be impossible to not think about her for at least 20 years.

Thanks team. Blue was my golden retriever who was old and was sick for a week or so before we had to make the call. I'd been playing with Maude when I got home late from rehearsal, jumped into bed, she always slept next to me and I woke up about an hour after lights out to her shaking. The seizure just got worse and didn't stop. Ugh.

Unfortunately it's the sad reality of owning a pet. We'll always outlive them.

So sorry for your losses. We're not looking forward to the day our Odie passes. He's a momma's boy, and it will completely wreck my wife. I'll be very sad as well since I found him at the local shelter, and he's a wonderful dog.

Sorry to hear about Maude. Outliving our pets is the most difficult part by far, however, it's still worth having the unconditional love they give.
