I had a fox terrier rescue that I agreed to keep "for a couple weeks" that stretched out to many years. She weighed all of 10 lbs, but could probably shed enough hair to cover a Clydesdale every day.

That's why I could never be a foster. I'd want to keep every dog I fostered. Once attached, there's no letting go for me. That's kind of how I now have 3. I got close enough to a neighbor's newly rescued Chihuahua that I took him over when they were going to have to return him for another chiwayawaya with less energy. I've had him for 6 years now. He's totally bonded to my 10 year old Chihuahua-Italien Greyhound cross.

Yep. my other dog liked playing with the little one, so we kept her primarily as his pet.
she was always a little sickly and had issues, but she lived for 21 years!

I have a hard time going to an animal shelter. I want to take them all home.

My daughter would take every cat and dog home if she could. There is a real need but we just don't have the space to do it. And how do you let them go after they've been with you for a while.

she is currently working through the shelters adoption process and yes she has two in mind and can't chose one and is getting them both
