Sabrina is 15 years old and going downhill kinda fast.
She is showing a lot of neurological issues - she falls down at random and holds herself (and walks) more and more crookedly. Vet found no structural issues and agrees that its' neurological.
I suspect that we'll need to make the difficult decision before too long.

She has always had the very endearing quality of "not minding" - even when she was young, if she jumped up and missed her target (and went, say, face first into the sofa) she'd just pick herself up and carry on - she was never phased by stuff. And even now when she falls, or can't jump up onto a chair (we have to pick her up to put her on her chair now), she's nonplussed. She's also been really stoic as far as pain is concerned, to a degree that's unusual in a small dog.
So... currently she seems relatively comfortable, and seems to not in a lot of pain (hard to really know, given her stoicism). Our vet says we're in early stage hospice.

She's a good little girl. Keep her in your thoughts if you can.

My Sadie is nearly 15 (in February). She still has some wild moment but she has had some falls. It’s tough. Last time she slipped she just looked at me and it was heartbreaking. I’m thankful for every day.

I was unaware a Border Collie was prone to serious fighting with another dog.

Tigger is a BIG greyhound, and the only times he's been hassled is from Borders.
I used to own 2 Border Collies myself
and I know they can be 'shirty'. But, I love em...
Today's event was AFTER the dogs owner said that her dog was nervous around bigger dogs.... the dog was gnashing and snarling while it was on its lead.... I didn't think she'd let it off...
But she did, and it came straight over in attack mode.

Thanks. He's fine now but has a week of vet visits ahead to address dressings etc.

Glad to see Tiger is OK. We had a similar event happen with our grey walking back from a parade. A dog lunged out and attacked Chase. He was a large male grey. Unfortunately, the greys skin is paper thin so they normally do not fair well in a fight.

I had checked his face for cuts and didn’t see anything, but halfway home his skin started to peel off his face. When we got to the vet, which wasn’t far from where the incident happened, we found someone else had already told the vet what happened. It didn't feel it at the time, but we were lucky with a 1K bill.

I agree on both counts.

I did not consider border collies to be so vicious.

Ouch. But looks like the vets took care. Heal up.

I'm glad Tigger's okay, but it seems to me that the $2K bill should be the border collie owner's responsibility. Will you attempt to contact her?
