On this day eleven years ago my wife and I collected our bundle of fur called "Duffy" from his foster home. He was aged around two years and had gotten off to a bad start...starved...matted..(he was not a bundle of fur when he was rescued)...and scared of everything, as he had not been socialised as a pup. Thankfully he has made up for all this by being totally spoiled.

Happy "Gotcha" day "Duffy".

Well the middle aged bloke in that story was a drill sergeant. Mummy long since collected on the "rugby is done when there's time off work" deal. That would be my nearly obscured arse 2nd from left. Brother would be on the right. But we played different grades. Lived in different towns before either one hit seniors.

Good you got the code right, but.

We had a minor flea-scare the last few days. found 5 or so on him (!)

thanks to our vet for getting him on a quality flea prevention since he was a puppy. we use sentinel (it stops their reproductive cycle.) but i think what is effective depends on your location.

if you are not doing any flea preventative measures, here's a reminder that they reproduce very very fast, and are extremely difficult to eradicate once they've reproduced. i strongly suggest asking your vets for something.

these 5ish little bugs could have easily turned into a 6 month expensive ongoing battle. instead it was one extra bath, and checking him a few times with a comb and flashlight. he must've laid down near a bunch of them when we were out training in the park.
