The SX P-bass does NOT have a P-bass neck. Not even close. It's closer to a Jazz, probably somewhere in between the two. Definitely thinner than a Fender P.
Not mine. My Ursa 1 had a standard P-bass 1 5/8 inch neck width at the nut, and was fairly thick top to bottom. Not even close to a 1 1/2 inches Jazz type neck.
Here it is (or rather was, I sold it to a friend who wanted to start bass, but I made him promise if he ever wanted to sell it to get another bass, I would get first crack at it):

The measurements are listed in each instrument's description. The P basses look to be a slight bit wider than the J, but not by much. Personally, I like a wider neck, but am really gassing for a J. I'm holding out for a 5 string tho. Hopefully some will show up soon.

Either way, I think you'll like it. Besides, with all the talk about how fat P necks are, I've got tiny little hands and no problems at all playing them. I've actually got three different P-basses right now, one an MIA Fender, and all three are faster necks than any of my other basses, and yes they are a bit fatter.

that's how my Ursa 1 is also...i do think it is a slightly more comfortable (for me anyway) shaped profile than the old headstock styles..

I noticed with the Douglas Pieces, they changed the neck specs from a nice chunky neck to a jazz style neck..

Btw does anybody know the tuner hole size? That's the only thing i dont like about sx. The tuners are pretty crappy.

The chrome plating is a little cheesy, but i never had any more trouble out of SX tuners than any other...if they seem sloppy, you can take them apart and give that little plate with teflon on it inside the tuner a slight bend, and they should tighten up and hold tune fine...but to answer your question, any of the standard full size tuners out there should fit the hole in the headstock...i can't remember the dimensions tho.

Well, the 1 5/8" width is only 1/8 of an inch more than a Jazz neck after all, it's not that much.
As far as the neck thickness overall goes I didn't measure that but it seems thicker than usual, but I can tell you I found it extremely comfortable to play, even more than my '08 MIA Fender Jazz! (I kid you not). I guess I'm just more suited to playing a thicker neck.
Oh, and I agree about it being a beautiful bass. It's one reason I want it back if the guy ever sells it. (besides having good tone and a comfortable neck to boot.)
