Show your tidy pedalboard!

Hello. This is my first visit to this epic thread. Now that I see that works in progress are in scope, here is mine. A hard lesson in prioritization, this layout is as much about what I didn't have space for as what I did.

This photo has heat map-like annotation to show switches that will have high, low, and no interaction (red, yellow, and blue respectively).

The blank space on the left will be an expression pedal; on the right, a MIDI controller for patch changes. The American Loopers pedal in the middle is a spillover switch between the Tensor and Reverb (a send switch with an always-on common output, really).

Audio and power cables will be EBS. Underneath will be Strymon power supplies, a JDI, and a Suhr Buffer. Each pedal will be affixed with a patch of rug padding under it and zip ties over it (friction plus pressure).

The board's short edges have patch bays for all external audio and power connections, with a power switch.

A custom, padded soft case is on the way.

Finally getting around to this after seven years. :bag: But in fairness: during that time, I acquired all these pedals; and most of them were newly released.

A new year brings a new pedalboard layout draft.

I love the Empress Reverb. It sounds better than a pedal format reverb-centric processor has a right to, and it is both stupid powerful and very easy to use. But I kept chafing at how much space I was giving to one pedal, however versatile.

So I decided to effectively distribute the Reverb's size and functionality, replacing it with two pedals: one that does enough of what Reverb does, the Neunaber Immerse MkII; and another that does what it cannot, the Red Panda Particle 2.

The Reverb will resume its modular synth supplementation duties, while the bass pedalboard will gain new powers.

Last one before I post the finished board, I promise.

Exploratory or overreaching? Brave or foolhardy? I'm considering this revised layout.

It loses the Proton and the spillover switch, but gains the Klein Bottle (which is way beyond spillover). Also it degrades usability by forcing the Particle 2 up and out of easy reach.

The previous layouts were safe: they had a clear distinction between the engagement and sound of the spatial processors. This layout blurs that distinction, both increasing some possibilities and descreasing others. Sigh... :unsure:

How do you like that Radial Pro DI? I'm looking at a new DI and that one is under my consideration.

It's bombproof...used it for hundreds of shows without a problem. It's just a good bit cheaper in their line, because they don't use Jensen's name regarding the transformer (even though that's the brand, iirc).

The JDI uses the classic and industry standard Jensen JT-DB-E transformer and offers several operating options.
The ProDI uses a Radial spec transformer not the same one just to be clear.
Both are excellent.
 
I also had a change to the board by dropping a footswitch to add the Basswitch Classic Boost in line with the AO Photon and Edison. The other FS are pictured, as well as, the Xotic VP25K for EFX blending.

Additionally, I have once again installed the PEDAL PYTHON for cable management. It is most handy to coil up and drop into the large front pocket of my Mono M80 gig bag with the NANO in the Tick.
