This is probably the tidiest board I have put together. Even the knobs match!
(Except for the purple chicken head on the Hematoma. Couldn't bring myself to remove that one.)

Well, it's not tidy yet because one of my preamps died, so it's a bit of a kludge at the moment. But my new experiment is running the VTDI and MBD-2 in parallel into a summing amp. I've managed to combine the glass-shattering attack of the VTDI with the Character knob dimed and the gut-rumbling hugeness of the MBD-2.
I think it's great. I practice 90% through headphones, and this is as nice as any headphone amp with aux in that I've ever used. And when I can play out loud, all I need is a cable and a cab to hear the same signal.Gotta' ask - how's the Seymour Duncan Powerstage treating you? I've been contemplating something like this quite a bit, but I'm a bit shy to pull the trigger...

As for volume, with my power-hungry 8-ohm Hathor 1203, which is what I mainly use, it gets louder than I would ever want to be in my own house. It gets even louder with my more efficient 4-ohm Barefaced Two10. But it's a pandemic purchase, and I haven't played with anyone else yet.
The EQ is fine, but I don't need it with all the other knobs already on the board. The cab sim is actually pretty sweet because even though it's not as dark as a typical bass cab, it rolls the treble off just enough to kill the hiss from the tubes when I run them at high gain, so it works like a noise killer without dulling my signal.
So overall it's one or my better gear purchases.
Great set up! Love the Discumbobulator. What size board is that, btw? Looking for a new board and yours seems like the right dimensions.

I got it off aliexpress with a soft case for not much money. Wonderful unit.
Sennheiser > Joshwah > MBD2 > Hoof v2 > SV-Pre > Diamond > L+HPF > ProDI. One (power) cable in, one (XLR) cable out, done.
Two questions -
1. What are you powering this with?
2. How do you like the Sennheiser? If you ever had the Shure GLXD16 wireless, how would you compare the two?
