Show Your Transparent Finishes

So I'm putting together a jazz bass (always wanted one, not enough cash) and I'm stuck on what color I'm wanting to finish it at the moment. I know I want to give it a transparent finish seeing as it's going to be made of swamp ash, I just don't know what color yet. I'm having difficulty finding much in the way of transparent finishes and since I know how much Tb'ers like to show off their buys and builds, show them if you've got them! :hyper:

tl;dr need help deciding on which trans finish, show yours.

It ain't mine, but I really like this trans finish:

I've always loved these finishes and they're just gorgeous. I was thinking about going the staining route too, but I'm not sure on how difficult it would be to work with the wood and how it would absorb the stain. It can't be too difficult can it?

This is an ash bass I built recently. I need better pics, but I used dark grain filler & finished it with nitro lacquer- vintage blonde (very thin) with a pearly/white halo on the edges.

I want that.... I really want that!!!....kind of finish on my soon approaching '51 style P-without the grain filler that is :).
Up until 10 seconds ago I was going to go for natural or otherwise...unsure. :hyper:
