It's getting tougher and tougher to ask a question out of simple curiosity around here without people thinking you're annoyed, or judgmental, or ranting, or whatever. You don't have to "care" about something to be genuinely curious about it.

I'm not sure what all of this is supposed to mean, but I prefer Major Metal's own response to my post (his response is post #37 if you're interested).

in the '70s, i wore either hip hugger bellbottoms or high waisted baggies with 7 inch platform shoes. my mother couldn't wait to tell me that they wore platform shoes when she was a teenager.

older adults mostly thought we looked foolish and often said so. so what's really changed is our perception - new fashion always looks lame to those who don't partake. i admit that high water skinny jeans don't appeal to me, but i'm guessing if i were 25 or under, they might.
