The book had many serious problems -- from lightbulb jokes in 1954 to a slow arch -- but I'm guessing the movie will be better.

After having seen it, and it was an excellent film, I have no idea why critics have given it so mediocre reviews, I thought

he wanted to get lobotomized. I think the force of the whole enactment nailed the truth so hard into his brain, he wanted the lobodomy happen so he could forget it all.

Depends on what you mean by scary...Its not Texas Chainsaw scary, but it is a meditation on sanity, and that can be disturbing for some people.

While I don't know your daughter, I wouldn't hesitate to let a teenager go see it.

No it's not scary for teens. No movies are too scary for teens. I watched The Grudge when I was 13, and though I was scared shitless on my dark way home, it was a great kick.

I liked it, but it dragged a bit, and I am getting tired of DiCrappio playing Bostonians/New Yorkers/Irish types. His accents always seem forced, and the acting was a bit contrite. I don't smell Oscar for the acting, but maybe for his name.

The screenwriter was good in my opinion though.

If you've been under a cinemagic rock, its the new Scorsese film, starring Leo DiCaprio and Sir Ben Kingsley. Its been delayed a few times since New Line is doing poorly on the cash
end of things.

I have been living under a cinematic rock and wasn't even aware of this movie until I watched it on one of the HBO channels last week.

This movie is a big cut above the usual dreck I've been watching on cable and Netflix recently.

On my second viewing the following day I picked up clues that validated my original opinion on whether he was actually crazy or just being manipulated. Who knows maybe there is also clues that would have validated the opposite opinion as well....

Kind of a different movies for Scorsese and I enjoyed it very much.
