Okay, complicated question with a potential of having a simple solution......perhaps.
Here's the gist of it. I'm using my floor pedals through the effects loop of my Alembic F-1X preamp. Except my tuner and distortion pedals. I have that before the pre. Here's the path from the input of the pre:
[ loop out > multi-fx > chorus > loop in ]
What I want to do is add a rack compressor into the mix. What would be the ideal signal path? What I was thinking looks like this:
[ loop out > comp. > multi-fx > chorus > loop in ]
What are the general rules here? Should I put my distortion in the effects loop signal path?
Tried finding the info here in the threads to no avail. If anyone can offer me some insight into this, it'd be much appreciated!
