Simple Amp?

Hi All! I did a search and got completely lost so please indulge me. I am a caveman as a bass player. Very simple, root notes a few 3rds and fifths and an octave if I feel real special. I play primarily praise and worship music and good old fashioned rock and roll. My current rig is an old peavey 400 bass head through a carvin loaded 15" GK cab. I use this at home and when I'm jammin with my buddies. I use a line 6 bass pod xt live set on the ampeg patch run direct for church. What I am looking for is a nice head that doesn't have 7 trillion knobs and still has a warm sound without being too expensive. I'm not looking for lots of wattage as it will pretty much be used in my home studio. I'm basically looking for something with a gain, low, mid, high, and volume and done with it. I really like how the new acoustic b200h sounded at the gc recently but even it has more knobs than I'll understand, and they are divided up by frequency. I've got about 4 or 5 hundred to play with and wouldn't even mind a small combo with GOOD sound. So who else loves simplicity?
