simple finger question

It might matter if theres a pattern that follows that is more comfy for you with one combination.
What i mean is that if u start with the other finger, a part coming shortly will be easier for you to play

I usually start with M and alternate.
I thought I wasn't using proper technique. I thought proper technique was to start with I.

i don't think it matters much
what does matter though, is whether you can control your fingers to be able to accent with either one. very vital in syncopated bits.
eg
You could use one finger for accented notes and the other for not accented, but thats not very efficient at higher speeds.
