So sup Miscellaneous guys. A few of the bands I'm in are trying to get me to do backing vocals. One Huge Catch. I think I'm pretty bad when it comes to singing. I can hit the note every once in a while ( like a blind horse can find water). So can you point me in the right direction plox? Most appreciated if you can.

But do remember though, not everyone is able to sing on key

Breathing is the most important part of singing. You must support a column of air in your throat and it must be strong. Your posture matters big-time as well. Google singing breathing exercises. There is some good material out there.
This ^, confidence, and being able to hear yourself in the monitors.
The confidence should come if you practise enough.
When driving I am always singing along to the mp3 player unless I have passengers of course.
