Any interest in this here charmer? 2nd gen Alder. Knobs have been changed to black aluminum flatheads, all else stock. Even has the coveted M7 gig bag!

I searched and waited for this bass for SO long and was overjoyed when I finally got it, but despite numerous attempts (I REALLY wanted to love it) I simply have not bonded with it.

Hoping I don't regret this...

DM me and we'll talk. Mods, please dump this post if it breaks any rules.

Ohhhhhh Myyyy

You had asked Sire, right? I'm still wondering why that feature is not mentioned on their website nor by distributors — and if there might be other "hidden" features like another push/pull knob to toggle between pickup wiring, comparable to the M5/M7 or the new F10...

You're right. As far as I can see, active/ passive switchability isn't listed anywhere. Also, apparently there's no mid sweep on this model. Perhaps they skipped those features to closely mimic the EBMM.

I'm a lefty, so ... sorry. No sale here. But I've been seriously considering an M5 for the longest time.

I totally get the "not bonding" thing, but is there something in particular that you dislike about that bass?

Nothing I can put my finger on... plays REAL nice, TONS of tonal options, but it doesn't seem to fit any of the bands I'm in. Honestly, I might be too old school. Had the same problem with the M2 I had and sold.

So, an I interpreting correctly that it's simply the aesthetics you aren't bonding with?

LOVE the aesthetics! I have a new band or two now that I could try it in. Just hasn't lit me up playing with any of the bands I had before. Might try one or two more tricks with it... seems to have SO much potential.
