I've been happy with these bass straps:

One thing to know about that strap and this is from personal experience because I bought one is that it's stretchy and especially so with heavy basses. I lasted one rehearsal with it and my bass was bouncing all over the place. If you don't move much when you're playing it might be ok but I jump and move around a lot and it just wasn't working for me.

Bass straps: I have used Walker & Williams staps for years. On bass and guitar. Padded and smooth leather, they have a varity of styles but all are well made and look badass.

Yes, Good point! Lucky us, that we have all kinds of options.

No worries about the quality although I'm slightly hesitant about the Chinese ones. I could have gotten an used MIM Fender that wouldn't have a lot of the features the Sire has (18 volt super flexible preamp, block inlays, 4+1 headstock). I'm just a broke musician and I saw it as a great deal as did hundreds of others which is why I still don't have mine after 2 months! I know guys that take Foderas and Sadowskys to bar gigs and I just go damn I can't drop $4000-5000 on a bass that cost more than my car. Hell both of my SBMM basses, my amp and most of my pedals were bought used.

I feel ya! This will be the first "new" bass I've bought in a while. My SBMM, Spector NS2, Pedulla Pentabuzz, MM Fender Jazz, Modulus Q5, and GK 700 RB are all used. I couldn't afford this stuff new. Like buying a car, once purchased, they're all used!

As silly as it is I really want to order one of the V7 in. Here is why it's silly.

I just got my first bass last week (Squire VM P/J) so to call me a rookie is a understatement. That said these seem like a huge deal and at a price that will only go up and possibility the QC will go down. For $400-$500 it seems like a no-brainer for a gear geek such as myself.

If either of those two things happen, then Sire will have sold out and failed at their primary mission. I think they're going to be trying to get better and hold prices, that's the whole (claimed) premise of their operation - "we can do high quality for less and still make a profit". We'll see. They've had some growing pains and shipping stumbles, sure, but seems to me their hearts remain in the right place, near as I can tell. Must be stressful for them, though, I don't think they were necessarily expecting this degree of success.

But I agree with you, I've been saying I'd take a Sire over a Squier since my M3 arrived, and the V7s have only confirmed that - that's nothing against the Squier, but Sires are at a whole different value / $ price point, imho. Priced like a Squier, built to compete with Fender USA Standard, I would say.

A American Standard Jazz 5 was what I was originally going to get. But after I sold my SR5 and 55-02 to fund one most of that money went for truck repairs and I didn't have the money for one anymore. That's when I seriously started to consider the V7 instead because of the rave reviews here. Yes it does sound like the step up in hardware is the only build advantage to the Fender. Speaking of which, to all you guys who have had one for awhile have you had any issues with the turners or bridge? As long as the tuners work and it stays in tune and the bridge doesn't rattle of the saddles move I'll be happy! Jim

I have not had any problems with tuners or bridge settings holding. Unless the tuner knobs get bumped in between, my Sires all seem to hold a tuning as well as any other bass does. And we get wild temperature and humidity swings here, especially in the winter. Almost shorts and t-shirt weather Saturday, but this afternoon, it's freezing rain, sleet, and good ol' "wintry mix". At least we're not getting tornadoes...

I have several music stores within an hour of me in South Florida that have all kinds of basses hanging on the wall that I can take home today or I could easily purchase something from another online vendor that could be shipped here within four or five days however I chose Sire because I believe in what they're doing and also the features they offer in the price range is second to none. However no matter how great the deal is or the value you get none of that does me any good after weeks and weeks of "processing."

Well, they did ramp up another factory in China to try to keep up with demand. This is a fairly typical startup growth phase production / shipping capacity issue, they're doing pretty well with it, actually (then again, they're not quite a "startup" either, though the Sire brand is).

Geez! Sometimes the "I want it yesterday" aspect of our consumer culture amazes me. Actually, it never ceases to amaze me. It seems we are all so spoiled. I would understand all the anticipation and frustration better if the buyer just ordered their first bass but, let's face it, most of those who post here already have at least a few basses already. So it's not like anyone is unable to play because their Sire hasn't arrived yet.

Should Sire post more realistic estimates of when your order will ship? Sure. When I ordered mine it listed today as the anticipated shipping date. Am I going to call / email Mickey Cho twice a week until it arrives? No. When the factory sends it to him, I'm sure it will be sent to me promptly. Until then I've got several other basses, all of which I enjoy playing.

I don't think the stock pickups need upgrading terribly, but then again, if you're going to go that way, those Delanos seem like a great candidate, and the V7 would make a great "upgrade bed". I've also been drooling over Joe Barden's hum cancelling J blade pickups, hard to choose between those and the Delanos.

I like the Sire pickups, but I think that with the 7.25 radius they could use raised magnets for the D,A and maybe the E strings.

@bholder Thanks for your opinion! I am on Delanos, Joe Barde pickups not exist at Turkiye other option is Bartolini 9BJD L/S and bartolini much cheaper then Delanos. BTW, This will be my first upgrade experience.

@Jamarvic I have insufficient knowledge about pickups, this is why I asked here. Is delanos incompatible with Sire V7 because of neck radius?
