it's an awesome color...it's impossible for a camera to reproduce it though,,
its the heavy gold sparkle layer under the red..
It was a tossup between that colour and the clear ash, looking at your photo now, I wish I had gone for the red lol
I see you changed the knobs on the concentric pots, are they any lower than the original knobs?

It's here! Fit and finish is spot on. The white is a trans finish, which is a welcome bonus. Have to wait until I get home later to plug her in.

Ummm,,,no I don't think so..I took those off of another preamp, but they are the same height as any other stacked knobs I've had.
Sorry to ask what I know has been talked about somewhere already, but are the necks on the P7 5 string the exact same as on the V7 5 string? I know it's a jazz neck but just wondering about how it feels compared to the V7.
So some time back now, in the spring I guess, I purchased my first Sire - a V7 5 string burst with maple neck.
I have now played this bass at many live shows, countless rehearsals and around the house shedding. It is one of my three bass tool kit, a Sadowsky PJ5, and a 50's reissue Fender P. This Sire is absolutely a rare breed and I find myself using it most of the time; it's very flexible, has good looks, great tone and plays very nicely. It is priced in the upper range for a starter bass but absolutely will stand with higher end instruments. I just wanted to give my opinion for any new readers thinking about this bass from someone who has now moved past the honeymoon stage and simply finds it a solid purchase. The B string is good, and I have found that the B string with the LaBella Hard Rockin steels really compliment it.

I have longer scale basses with tighter B strings, but 1) they're virtually all more expensive, and 2) the Sire's B string is as good as or better than any 34" scale 5er I've played. I've had my first V7 for a long while now, but the honeymoon stage seemingly hasn't ended yet.
