BTW @rinojohnny, you
Hello everyone, I just wanted to ask you a little about your opinion on Sire V5 if we compare it to Fender Player/MIM. Or should the comparison be with a squier cv?
BTW @rinojohnny, you ARE asking this question at the Sire Love Forum (aka Sire Bass Club). I don't think you are gonna get anyone recommending something else

Haha, I missed that elephant in the room.

Counterpoint though, the praise I give my Sire and favorable comparison to MIM Fenders is in spite of the fact that I love my Pbass. My Player P is my most beloved bass, even if I don't think it's as good value as my Sire; it's a pure rock and roll machine and it's so easy to make sound good.

I have had a D5 for years over several months now. As well as looking good it sounds great! Can't praise it enough. Quiet wait splits coil pickup that looks like a single coil. Achieves the pbass sound could be a little more forward in the low frequencies but I'm not complaining!
Thanks man, I guess I got no doubt about picking up the D5 then. My current bass is a $70 Samick PJ, so I'm hoping this will be a significant upgrade. Lack of low end seems fine for me, i've got my amp settings and B3 to compensate for that.

I'm no professional but I'm going to guess it won't be hard finding something you like more that the Samick. you're going to love the D4! I'm getting a P5 in the mail tomorrow...

Speaking of which... I bought a P5, in red, because Pitbull had it in stock... I'm worried I won't like the color. Has anybody (besides Lobster - I saw the great review, thanks for that) been in person with the Dakota Red P5? Thoughts?

Dakota Red is a classic color dating back to the 70's. Highly prized by collectors. I think it ROCKS!

I can only weigh in for the green colored p5, since I have one. The color is absolutely gorgeous, the pictures do not give it any justice. I`m sure the Dakota red is going to be just as classic as it should be.

Don`t forget to post pics tomorrow!
