Sit powerwounds

Just put some Sit power wound nickels on my Spector NS pulse II…. Im usually a D’addario Xls guy but I like the low
Mids and tight lows on these strings so far. They are defiantly a bit warmer than Xls but they have a bit of top end as well. I want to see the longevity. Any Sit string users in here ?

I'm a recent SIT convert. I've been using the Power Wound Nickels 40-100 with an exposed-core 125B on my Yamaha since November and they're still going strong. I'm also trying out the Fusion Wound Stainless 40-120 on my Yamaha BB435 for the last month and I really like them as well. Once the FWS are ready to be replaced, I'll be trying the Power Steels 40-120.

They're very nicely priced and the SIT Customer Service is nothing short of amazing!

Broke a 4th during rehearsal this weekend and replaced it with whatever they had in the studio.
It was a Powerwound 105 nickel set. I liked the price (I was buying the set just to finish the evening), and the string was a nice surprise as well. Good feeling, nice tension and good sound. I may replace all the strings with the Sit set.

the same way I felt ;a very nice surpise…now I’m curious about thier other sets of strings. Seems like the SoT foundations are pretty popular on the internet. I wonder how they contort to the power wounds

Yes bro. So far I am super impressed with the power wounds. Going to see how they break in. I am kind of intrigued by the foundation as well. I still really love daddrios they are just really aggressive on this Spector. The powerwounds can be aggressive if you dig in but more balanced if you don’t dig in. Differently a more balanced set of strings for this bass

I've been using SIT Nickle Powerwounds for about 20 years.

The only time they let me down was when I attempted to put them on a 5 string and could NOT get the B string to intonate on three different sets. So I switch to using D'Addario NYXLs on my 5 strings. On my fours, though, they are fantastic!

I've got nothing but 5's, and have had no problems with intonation on SIT Powerwounds at all. I use the .130 tapered B string.

can’t go wrong with d’addarios….. they are just so aggressive on this bass which is not a bad thing

why I think I’m enjoying them…. They can get bright when ya dig in. But able to also have nice tight low and low mids when playing more even…. Xls and emgs are fun bright growly clanky fun but not perfect for every song

I've used both the Power Wound Nickel exposed-core .125 and taperwound .130, and now Fusion Wound Stainless non-tapered .120... They're all good. :thumbsup:

They do sound amazing on a Warwick Thumb but I also use them in Fender, Gibson and Alembic basses.

Hmmm, got me thinking. I might have to try them on my Warwick Fortress Masterman. But the EB Cobalt flats sound so good on it. Hmmmm.....
