SKB iSeries vs. Gator GTSA-GTRBASS

I need a second flight case. I have an older Hiscox but don't want to go with another one because I want the more modern trigger-release latches with TSA locks. It has performed extremely well but I feel the need to tape the buckle latches for every flight.

Someone tell me I'm an idiot for even considering anything other than the SKB iSeries 3i-5014-44. I know the Gator GTSA-GTRBASS is 'roto-molded' which if I'm not mistaken, sits somewhere between the vacuum-molded SKB 44Pro and the iSeries cases?

This will be for short hops in smaller aircraft and longer hauls as well. When I say small I mean like the Dash-8 Porter uses from Toronto to NYC or the ATR 72s used a lot by European carriers.

It's $700 $CDN for the iSeries. $370 for the Gator but I'm sure the prices are relatively the same in the U.S. Any thoughts or opinions?

How pricey is the Gator Titan GWP-Bass case where you are? I have two of the Titans and one of the SKB I-Series. The Titan is Gator’s version of the I-Series.

I have never owned the Gator that you are considering but I have seen them next to the Gator Titan (Sweetwater GearFest Gator booth years ago). It is certainly not the same level of case as the Gator Titan or SKB I-Series. You will give up some protection, but also save on dimensions, weight, and price if you go with the GTSA-GTRBASS.

The Titan is actually $180 more than the SKB.
