Lately I've been trying to get my right hand technique really going with some chordal techniques. I've started to discover that I really like combining slap with playing chords with the back of my hand with the top 3 or so strings. It seems to really help bring the lines out a lot more and give them a lot more texture, especially if i use one of those jaco style harmonic chords. Does anyone else play with this kind of technique? I've noticed Miller uses chords but he doesn't seem to use the back of his hand much, but I'm sure I'm not the first to do it.

Check out some Les claypool stuff, he plays a lot of chords in his slap and does a lot of slap/strumming as well.

Not a slapper but Steve Harris has been splaying his 3 right hand fingers to hit power chords in the last few years, I remember him getting into it in an interview in bass player years ago.
