Slaving

Hello People,
I have a ? about slaving to combo amps together
1 is a 100 watt fender bassman the 2nd is a 60 watt Randall RB60 We have a new Pa and the bass has been mudding up the vocals. So I had read I could slave two bass amps and put them out next to the PA speaker and use a monitor to hear myself.
Has anyone tried this and if so I know how to do it already I just need to know if it is going to give me what I am looking for which is putting the bass back in the mix without having to run direct through the Pa
Sorry so long I just need to get the right answer I have 10 up coming gigs that I will need to use this on the first is Sat. night.

I used to slave 2 Carvin 100 watt combos and got a really decent sound. I'm not sure if you can slave a 100 watt with a 60 watt combo. Somebody step in here and help this guy. I tried slaving one of the 100 watt Carvins to a Nemesis 2x8, 120 watt combo and it didn't work. I don't know if I was hooking them up wrong or what, tried all kinds of configurations and still wouldn't work. Sooooo....How about some help here fellow TB'ers.

yes you can slave two combos together, i used to do it with a Fender Rumble and Ampeg BA115

what you can do is into the Bassman > line out > input of randall

Were the amps the same wattage? If they weren't, how do you slave 2 combos with different wattage, like a 120 watt to a 100 watt?

thanks for your answers. I know I can do it because I have already done it it is effects out from the fender to effects return to the Randall both amps have to be turned on for it to work maybe that was the trouble that you had unless you just connect to the other combo's speaker but that changes the power (volume) you get the ? was if you used it in a live situation and did it work as well or better than going direct?
it pretty much gives you the same results of bass on either side of the stage but were you able to mix it well enough to lock in with the rest of the group that was pumping through the Pa direct?

You can use a headphones our, line out, tuner out or effects send out of the Fender , into the input of the randal. Connect them using an instrument cable (the shorter the better). Be care ful not to send too hot a signal into the Randall. Now both amps need to be on to do this. One other thing you need to consider is phasing of the combos. They must be in phase to make any difference, otherwise you are wasting your time.
