Small (210?) cab that can handle my svt III pro by itself

the carrying capacity of a 944 is amazing, you could fit a fEARFUL in there along w/an amp, your bass, your gig bag AND of course the girl in the front seat. Great access to the gear via the well designed hatchback. Could do the same w/a 928 but the 944 is more economical (for a Porsche.....).

If we had the prices of gas here in Eu as you guys in States have, Porsche 928 would be the way to roll for me but with price of almost 9 USD per gallon its a no no

Actually I got the 2012 Mustang GT Premium. The Trunk looked to be a reasonable size, but upon trying to load gear, the opening is a wierd shape, and quite small. Cannot load any of my cabs or basses back there, just a Head and Cords. The backseat is just large enough for 2 Basses or one smallish (BA500 barely fits) cabinet (once again the limitation is the opening, the shape wierd, and very small) Being that I Like to take a fretless with me as well as a Fretted, that only leaves the front seat for available room for a cab. Luckily on the way to or from a proper gig, there are always bandmates, and I an toss the cab in one of their cars to make room for my chick.

The main crux of my question is finding a small, powerful cab that can handle a large output on a daily basis. Weight is not as much of an issue as size, as I am 6'5, 240, but it is nice to have something manageable.

Forgetting what the Cabs are rated for is something new I have not heard. I have based most of my decisions on RMS power (not Program Power) basing the decision on excursion is definitely worth exploring.

Now I just have to find a way to play these cabs without having to order them all 1 by one and returning them until I get one I like.

Seems to me you are doing it backwards. Take your rig to the gig and take the chick home.

Schroeder 12 Mini or DNA 12 Micro should work for you. I love my Eden 2x10s but they are deep (dimensions) cabs. - and will fart if you really push the bass. The Schroeder 12's are powerful, they are loud and dont fart easily, they sacrifice a little low end to perform like this though. Only heard one DNA cab, a 12 Micro but it was easily the best 12 Ive ever heard. both of these should fit in the back seat, Otherwise grab a couple of Eden EX112's (8ohm) - not as good as the others IMHO, but decent and very compact.

Get a DNA 210. I promise you'll think it's a 410. It held up my low B better than most 410s I've ever played. It's a big 210 but would easily fit in any car. I think it actually holds around 800 watts.

Now convinced the BXT210M is blown. 250 watts is enough for it to fart and crackle with gain and master both @ 9 Oclock.

So I called GC to return it, and they offered me an obscene discount on something from their new inventory. As we all know, they don't carry many many of the cabs suggested in this thread. On some sage advice I received here, and knowing that GC backs up their return policy. I opted to test the 8 ohm Ampeg PN210HLF which should pull exactly half of its RMS power rating from my SVT III Pro - 275 Watts @ 8 ohms.

If I really like it I would likely get a 2nd PN210HLF and stack them on stage. If not, it is an easy return, and on to more creative solutions. Just have to squeeze 2 basses in the passenger seat...

The DNA 210 and Duke LeJeune have certainly sparked some interest. Have to leave something to GAS for next time.

Ah,....Ya, you can do what you're doing there with the 3-pro only, and a pair of good 210's. One for practice/small stuff, both for bigger gigs, yes....

To me, sportscar means a 2 seater with a tiny trunk, you need to land somewhere in between that and the truck, in order to haul a proper bass rig AND the girl.

Just updating my profile to include a Little Mark II head, and a recently acquired Avatar B410. Has a bit of a low end rattle (thought the speaker was blown) but user Net44 has some excellent suggestions for quick fixes that are my weekend project. Gigging Saturday night with it, we'll see how it goes.

In Re: Sports Car...drove a Z3 for a dozen years and yeah it sucked having the top down at 3AM driving home, but it's LA...
Have replace the Z with a Mini Cooper Clubman and now have room for a passenger too.
