I saw a post from 2009 talking about fitting rigs into small cars and pictures being shared, and I am generally curious to see in 2025 if anyone has updates or new setups with their small cars.

I really love cars like the Honda Fit, Civics (Today though the sedan is pretty big) or boxy cars fitting bass rigs.
If you have a small rig or doom or a 8x10, I love to see your small car rig fitting setup.

Hell if you have a big truck that still be cool to see!
I love to see how you fit it and what car you own - currently I have a HR-V which isn't imo a small car, maybe for American roads. Though it is still consider a subcompact.

I've been driving Honda Fits since October '08. They can fit a whole lot of stuff in them. I certainly have and never had the side or rear windows blocked (which, of course, means almost twice as much stuff could fit in if I didn't care about visibility).

I don't own this car or rig anymore, but an Ampeg 8x10 cabinet can fit in a Kia Soul no problem.......

My aunt doesn't driver anymore sadly she is starting to struggle with memory issues.
For obvious reasons she cannot drive, and my cousin may give me the Fit since they know I am a giant fan of Honda and all things Fit.
I feel like it is the ultimate band car haha!

Sorry to read this about your aunt, but that happens to many of us as we get older.

What year/version Fit is it. Our first one was ordered from the factory so we could get the 5-speed gearbox. What we have now is a '19 Fit EX that we bought used (the first used car that we've bought) near the end of December '22. I am still sort of getting used to not having a manual gearbox, as that is what I'd been driving since 1976 (been driving Hondas since that time). The paddle shifters on the CVT are pretty fun to use, admittedly.

Porsche Boxster, MarkBass 112 combo in the frunk, mic stand, etc in the rear trunk, bass in the passenger seat. Bought a rack that mounts on the back trunk lid, and I’ve strapped a MB 210 combo on there. Hell I’ve even strapped my gig bag on the rack. Fun car to drive as several of my gigs are 1-2 hour drive.

I believe it is a 2016 or 2015 I remember when I my aunt bought it, she use to live in NYC, but then move by us to be closer to daughters out in LI, but moved to North Carolina now. It was purple and it was hot! Yeah, manual Fits are awesome and what I would search for, they just are so insanely price these days, what isn't though!

In high school, I drove a ‘74 VW Beetle (it was old at the time - I may be a geezer, but I’m not THAT old!) :sour:

Bass went across the back seat in a gig bag, and my Fender Sidekick 65 1x15 combo went in the passenger seat on its side. Almost made enough gigging like that to keep the Bug running. Almost. :rolleyes:

(This was for BG gigs. If I had a DB gig, I had to beg mom to let me use her Chevy Celebrity station wagon…)

I regularly transport my full rig in the hatch of our electric 2016 Nissan Leaf. Similar in size to any jellybean econo box. We've put 120k miles on it just changing tires and breaks. Love that little car.

Both of my mesa subway cabs (I usually only bring one) fit easily in the hatch.

My rig:
  • Bass in a gig bag
  • Pedaltrain Nano+ in its bag
  • Hercules stand
  • Mesa WD-800 in its bag
  • Mesa Subway 115
  • Mesa Subway 112 (sometimes)
If I'm just rolling with the 115, not only does it fit easily in any small car, if needed I can take my entire setup in an Uber and carry it in one trip if I needed to.

Yup, Europe Jazz, Japan and US Fit. Unsure why... I guess in Japan it is a car that can "Fit" everything and in US, trying to target buyers to think "It's small but can Fit anything!" either way sadly in the US they aren't sold anymore as of now...

Camry (better gas mileage)
And
Impalas (look better)

Are consistently the tops of compact cars for trunk space. I have a Camry and love it for that reason.

I had a 64 bug and I could pull out the passenger seat and load either my Ampeg B-18 or a Sunn 200S cabinet with 2-15's and my bass back in 1970
