Small drone with camera hovering outside my window today.

This morning I heard a buzzing sound outside of my window. I looked out and there was a small drone hovering in a stationary position about 100 feet away. My house is perched on a steep hillside so the drone was level with my windows but still about 50 feet above ground level. I got two phone calls from my neighbors who also witness the drone and they were pretty upset about it. One of the neighbors said he saw a Go Pro type camera mounted to the bottom of the drone and is really pissed off as he thinks it is an invasion of our privacy. I know we don't own the airspace above our homes so there is little that we can legally do about it. I think the drone might be owned by the guy who lives on the hillside above me. I have seen him fly RC gliders before. Not sure if I should go and have a talk with him or not. My other neighbor who knows him well says he is a first class jerk and I would be wasting my time. I guess flying drones are going to be the way of the future so we might have to get use to them. What do you think?

Hmm, a peeking Tom. Do you have a paintball gun? If not get one and shoot the dang thing down and then drive over it with your vehicle.

Definitely a candidate for "Worse Neighbour" award. A camera? I think I'd be buying a pellet gun, might as well make some sport out of it, find something +ve in the situation.

I just have a shotgun but I don't need him filming me blowing away his private property and then giving it to the police. It would bring me pleasure to do it though.

I'm far from being a gun advocate or even a fan of guns, but I would definitely get a shotgun and blast that thing out of the sky. That is some total BS.

Keep in mind I just woke up from a short snooze and am in no mood for some A-hole to be hovering a winged camera near my home. I'd probably shoot the owner given the mood I'm in right now. Stupid Pizza Roll-fueled dreams.

Seriously, I would look into jamming the signal or even finding a way to control that sucker. That would be the white collar way of handling it. You'd never even get a slap on the wrist. Blowing it out of the sky with a shotgun on the other hand will land you in jail. Go the white collar way.

If it's looking in your window it can't be looking in your neighbour's window or down. You should set each other up on a group text. One of you can knock it out from across the fence without being caught on camera.

It might have GPS with the wifi. Bury it in tinfoil quick!

I Googled flying drones and here is an incident that happen just a mile or so from my house. The youtube user name is Donny. I am not sure, but I think my suspect neighbor name is Donny also.
Watch the video and it shows a pissed off surfer guy almost bringing down the drone by throwing a rock at it.

Yep, I'd jam it so he couldn't fly even over his own property - but I'd have to pop a few paint balls at it first.

It's an outright trespass and invasion of privacy.....

Well, on second thought, there may be regs against jamming signals. You should probably look into that. You may have to jam from a hidden location. I suddenly don't like this guy Donny.

Future sign of our times. If these things get to be popular, there'll be a lot of them taken down. Super annoying and intrusive. Just the fact that someone has the gall to be flying it in your face is enough to provoke a takedown IMO.

No harm in checking with the local authorities and seeing what the rules and regs say about it, surely you'd be able to knock it down, you could probably play the harassment angle too . . .

Also, unless things have changed, Go Pro's don't have transmitters (I dare say you could use an eye-Fi card, but I think they have a really short range). So I don't think he'd have the footage of you knocking it down.
