Amp came in yesterday and I just hooked it up to one PA top and two subs. (I have BFM Omni 10.5s and Tuba 24s and the tops are SO much more efficient, I've found that without some signal processing in front of them the subs just get trounced on so both subs balance more closely with one top.) Anyway, I hooked up an mp3 player to the amp: one channel through a small 7-band eq pedal, the other straight in (eq'd the top and dropped level a bit, full range to the subs). Power seems pretty good. The amp has a 100w/300w/500w switch that definitely changes power level. I have another small eq that I'll play around with tonight if I get time to pseudo-crossover the sub and get a bit more low end going (another thing normally handled through DSP in my setup, but processing is built into my amp so no way to just wire it through this little beast).
Initial impressions are that it might be a little thin on bottom end (again, more testing to follow), it's a little heavier than I was expecting, but not really heavy by any means (I don't have any kind of scale at all, so don't even ask), sounds nice and clean with no self noise that I can really find, every kind of input I could think to put on an amplifier except 3.5mm, speakon outs! I won't get a chance to try it with a bass cab until next week (mine's at church), just so you know.
That's about it for now. I'll try to get more up and maybe a pic with a DVD case or something for some kind of reference in the next day or so.
FYI, I bought this as a possibility to power an uber-portable PA setup for my wife's karaoke rig. The real setup is the above mentioned BFM cabs, two gator mixer-top racks (8ru audio, 6ru video), 17" LCD singer monitor, two vocal monitors, laptop, table, chairs, bin of 15-20 binders with song lists, huge bin of audio, video & power cabling, lighting rig, lots of mics, stands for everything, etc. It fills the entire bed of my Tundra and the back seat.
I'm trying to put together something she can fly with: bigger pelican/SKB case with a small mixer, hopefully this amp, a pair of small speakers (probably the biggest challenge in this packaging), mics, cables, POSSIBLY a secondary computer monitor for the singer, lightweight folding mic stand, couple of songbooks. Laptop lives in a normal laptop bag separate from this box.
