There are always hacks. And there are options that are actual pedalboards, with bags, that easily fit power supplies. Not everyone wants to hack their new pedalboard, and most people would want to know if a recommended option can't fit a pedalboard, requires a hack, or will result in spaghetti wiring. Enjoy your riser, I'll stick with a small, sturdier pedalboard plus a nice bag.

Is it a hack if it works? The riser fits nicely in my gig bag eliminating the need for another case. It is actually incredibly sturdy (more so than my Peadltrain) and my wiring is now cleaner than pictured below with low profile 90 degree cables. The rechargeable power supply has been great, even useful for charging my bandmates devices. The power supply also eliminated some noise from dirty power at certain establishments. I carefully measured everything when I “hacked” my riser and it just so happened to be perfect, zero tools required. As a utility pedalboard with just a tuner and HPF, larger pedalboards would be overkill and much more expensive. Without the riser it would just two pedals on the floor, which would knock into each other in the gig bag plus I’d need a one spot cable or batteries. I probably have 200 gigs with my riser and never once was it an issue, this is frankly the most I’ve thought about it.

You feel free to do you though! As you said there are many other options which you prefer, but that doesn’t mean we’re doing it wrong and you’re doing it right.

Seems to me if one was on talkbass as an Amazon associate trying to make money off posts, one could at least be a supporting member of the site they are trying to swindle. Do you even play bass or are you just a hack?

Sid, I'm sorry you didn't understand that jerry-rigging things to get them to work is considered a hack, as in a hacked-together solution that's sometimes creative but not nececessarily elegant or durable. If the term jerry-rigged (itself a portmanteau of jury-rigged and jerry-built) makes it easier for you to understand what I was saying then I'm happy to help out.
