I've never been a smoker, but it seems to me that bars are places people go to drink and smoke. what's next, an alcohol ban in public?
Bans on smoking are a drag.

I live in MN, and not being able to smoke inside when it's -20 is way uncool.
It should be the owner of the establishments decision whether or not to allow smoking; smokers buy drinks like everyone else.
In Michigan we just passed a no smoking in bars law last year. Some of the bars went under, some are still struggling, some are letting people smoke in them and just saying "Come get us". They know there is not enough enforcement. So some of our fans will not see us at certain places.
