Smoking pot while being in a band

Sorry to chime in that blatantly. From what I have gathered, it seems that weed is smoked mostly pure in the U.S. ? Because here in europe, it's almost always mixed with tobacco, wich isn't really cool. I know a lot of people who got hooked on tobacco via weed here.
Do you smoke it pure in the bowl/pipe too?
I once or twice rolled a joint with pure weed, but man, that's hard to inhale...

yup always just straight MJ around here, I've never met anyone that ever mixes their weed with tobacco (except the old plug in the end of a cigarette trick).

I know a guy who mixes cheap roll tobacco with his herb, but the majority of pot smokers in the US that I have encountered smoke it pure in the bowl, pipe, joint, or bong.
Some people use THC extracted into olive oil, butter or margarine and use that to make edibles like cookies, or brownies. I hung out with some German exchange students who would roll spliffs.

Let me start by saying I have not smoked cannabis in over 20 years. Different time, different place.
Back in the '70's, however, was a different story. Everyone I knew and hung around with (including bandmates) were what you could call marijuana connoissuers. We were always interested in obtaining the best herb we could find. Of course, getting high was the point. We just wanted to do it with style.
Remember Thai Sticks?
Columbian Gold? Panama Red? Maui Wowie? Old school names for sure, but the cream of the crop back then. We too would discuss the various bud and its intrinsic qualities,aroma and flavor as some discuss a fine wine or micro-brewed beer. Nothing unusual or new about this aspect of THC indulgence.

Of course only my anecdotal evidence is all that matters ..duh. I will bring this up next time I'm around some stoners, ask them how many smoke for taste and pleasure..I can see the weird looks and laughter I will receive now :rolleyes:

The main point of my drinking is not to get high/drunk. I own a homebar with about 50 bottles of alcohol from good scotch,bourbon,vodkas and a cooler full of microbeers. My homebar puts some small bars to shame I seldom ever even get a slight buzz but have a small drink or two daily from bottles that I buy for the flavors and quality not to get buzzed. I hate being drunk and in my early 20's had a bad alcohol problem that i cleaned up myself. BTW, I love stoners and know some, they are some funny @ss people.

These days it all tastes the same. To me, weed has lost it's undergroud allure. I miss the the $10 bags that were 4 fingers high, and of course, Thai Sticks.

I'm old and don't appriciate it very much anymore. :(

You're making the mistake of assuming that since you've never had a particular experience that it's impossible for it to be so.
I like to get just a touch of high from time to time, but very often don't.

Just as I enjoy the smell of a campfire's smoke, I also like the smell of pot and will sometimes hang around enjoying the smell in the room, and turning down the offered hit.

I also enjoy smelling a bag of pot, popcorn, steak on the barbecue with none of them ever making me high.

That's just plain ol wrong. That is exactly what pot smokers do. Every smoker I know talks about the taste, comparing to differnt types of foods and woods and wines. And also the characteristics of the smoke. ( smooth, heavy, light ect. ) And I'm positive there are at least as many characteristics as tabacco, probably more.
But you gotta wonder one thing. Why would you smoke anything if it doesn't do anything except give you a greater risk of getting some kind of cancer. Tabacco seems dumb for that reason alone.
And as far as trading oz. for oz. is there even a type of tabacco that costs $400 an oz ?

Ok..all you pot smoking snobs. Man i must be in the wrong neck of the woods since the only thing folks here say about the dope is if its harsh ,smooth or if its kickin in yet. Must be the high class smokers who compare notes of hippy lettuce. Yes, Tobacco for taste, pot smoke and any smoking can give you cancer although I never inhale pipe smoke don't need to since its only for taste,just a snork and its gone. $400.00 an ounce? Man you have to be high to pay that for anything these days :rollno:

man, I went out tonight to watch a friend play. Ordered a guiness and, thinking of the band aid laugh, I ordered a shot of 16yr Lagavullin. Couldn't believe it - pure smoky band aid, even the smell of it. Didn't drink it. Everyone at the table said the same thing. I used to just call it peat flavour and I loved it, but yeah, smoky band aid is closer, and now I don't like. kudos to your wife!
