So do we have flashlight geeks too?

Ok, this thread hasnt been active for a while, but i've got a question for you flashlight geeks. I am going on a camping trip with my biology class next week and i would like to purchase a best "bang for you buck" flashlight". What do you guys consider to be that?

ive got a box full of mags but the handiest thing for camping is my 4aa head mount that has led and/or incandescent ....consider too a light weight bug suit ...any gun/sporting place.........

I'm actually quite digging this little guy...

I keep it in the case that carries my pedalboard, cables, strings, tools, etc. and use it at every gig. It's perfect for when you're rooting around behind your amp trying to get everything plugged in on a dark stage.

Something smallish with a 1 watt, 3 watt or Cree LED that uses standard batteries such as AA or AAA. What's your price range?

This goes with me when I'm night diving.

And here is my new little dive buddy.

The wikked thing is, I only paid money for the first one. Deployments rock when it comes to toys.

And also bear in mind: Those are the ones I remember at 0430 in the morning, IE I use them frequently/really like them. I do have more.

Peace,
Greg

I'm thinking about replacing my Surefire G2 nightstand/tacticool light with this:

Or maybe this but I'd like to keep it smaller so probably not (from some reviews I've read they said it was pretty big - I'd like to see one compared to a G2 size-wise):

I thought about going with Fenix but seems like most of them are reverse-click tailcap switches instead of forward switch. These Eagletacs are getting great reviews on CPF and the price-to-quality ratio seems right.

I'll probably either throw the G2 in the car or maybe do a poor-man's mount with it on my AR-15 with an aftermarket pressure switch.

My cousin's got a Surefire that he swears by. At one point he lost it, but a couple weeks ago we were cleaning out his attic and he tosses me over a Vietnam-Era ammo vest that he had from being stationed on Okinawa. I go through the pockets and feel something, so I take it out. It's his beloved Surefire. He was so happy!

is this a bassist thing?? I mean, my bf, who is a bassist carries one and so do I. Mine is like them silly mini ones on my keychain, his is a much nicer blinding white and red light one on his keychains..
what is it with flashlights, cats and bass players??

of course he uses his to see behind amps and speakers and stuff..and working the soundboard...
