Someone suggested to me that you put that rubbery stuff that you use to line drawers on top of the cab before you set the rack on it. I just racked my amp head into an SKB 4U rolling rack and I've had the same concern. Haven't tried it yet, but it's worth a shot. Also like the idea of stapping it down.
So here's the deal. I was at a gig jamming right along when my bass suddenly got quiet, i turn and look back and my rack has fallen to the ground. I only managed to mess up a cable, and scratch the edges of the case. So, what i need to know is how to prevent this from happening again, outside of setting it on the ground.
Alright, both my cabs are covered in carpet, my rack is 6u and goes in order; amp,tuner, power conditioner, open, wireless.
Maybe you could use the kind of anchoring system Fender did on some of the Bassman, Bandmaster amps. Or, you could roll on a coat of bed liner, like they spray or roll on pickup truck beds.
