...because one of my customers is a ****head.

As a lot of you know, I work in an adult video store. I sold a 3 pack of magazines to a customer last weekend, and about 10 minutes after he left, a cop came into the store carrying a magazine and dragging a 14 year old kid. Apparently, the customer opened the mag pack in his car, decided he didn't want one of them, and threw it into my parking lot, where the kid picked it up. I had to show the cop the video of the store just to avoid having charges pressed on me for selling adult material to a minor.

It's a hot button because we(upright citizens of proper society )don't like to admit we're in the least bit involved in *that kind of stuff*.
I guess it never occurred to the cop that you likely sell enough stuff to legal-age customers that there's no need to risk losing business/the store's license for selling to some 14-yr-old.

States REALLY need to put a little more thought into their sex offender laws. You would think they should pertain to rapists, pedophiles, gropers, etc.

BUT, they appear to be a catch all sort of law. I have a problem with a 18 year old being charged for having consentual sex with their 16 year old girl/boy friend and pissing ones parents off.

Prison is not only a punishment it's a business.

It has to be a catch all, otherwise you risk having various groups debate the morality of the situation.

For example: If I think that the 19 year old should be punished because he's committing an immoral action and you don't, where do we go with that?

I don't agree with these sort of ridiculous cases, but it seems like the least amount of headache for all involved (minus the falsely accused, of course.)

I used to work with guys who frequented them. (this one guy would leave his "porn to download" list on the desk in the office) I've been in one locally before, and it was just weird to me. Haven't felt the desire to go back.

Sometimes it doesn't matter and the state files charges in lieu of a victim, and you basically have to prove you're innocent, rather than them proving you guilty... Kind of backwards from what it SHOULD be.

That's what's scary. Every week someone gets out of prison or off death row because of DNA evidence exonerating them. Some of these people may not be the most scrupulous around but that shouldn't matter.

As a country we state nobody has ever been put to death for a crime they did not commit. I say BULL. If there are those being taken off death row because of new evidence I would say there has to be some who never got the chance. It would be nice if they could reexamine some of the evidence for those already put to death. Could you see the ****storm that would occur if some were found innocent after the fact.

By the way, I have mixed feelings regarding the death penalty.

Yeah, the death penalty has a lot of head-scratching involved with it; how on earth can a prosecutor block DNA evidence and still go to sleep with a clear conscience?
