So I just pulled the trigger on a Eastwood Classic 4

Now, just talking, it is UNEXPLAINABLE to me why they do not reissue the Gibson EB2 (aka Epi Rivoli) and the Fender Coronado; ok, ok: I Know I might just seem a bit obnoxious (I am always pushing for this issue!), but everytime the issue "Coronado" and "EB2" pops up, unavoidably there's a lot of "drooling factor" around in the bassplayers community! On any forum!!! Another one would be the Guild Starfire, too...
I think (better: we all know!) that with today's technologies and reduced tolerances, better materials etc. they would be absolutely desirable axes. Just look (but soon you'll try by yourself!) at how beautiful and good sounding and fantastic is the Eastwood C4!!! And look at E-Bay the prices when a sample surfaces: we're talking about 1500 usd (starting price and more!!!)

Now also think for a minute of a Coronado reissued by Fender, even as "Squier series"; maybe just only the two pickups model (Coronado II), maybe in two colors and stop: a sunburst and a red or a natural, just to pick two; and think also about the EB2, even reissued as Epi Rivoli, as it was few years ago for just a limited period...
but in the meantime: we're lucky enough to enjoy this Eastwood Classic 4!!!

There are a lot of hollow and semi-hollow basses available today. Ibanez Artcores, Eastwood, the new Kay re-issues and Gretsch are just a few. For that matter, the Turser hollows (semi-hollows?) are probably as good or better instruments than the old Coronados were. What I've heard about the Coronados is that they looked good and didn't sound that great.
Those new Tursers are nice looking...they remind me a lot of Trey Anastasio's Languedoc guitar

Be careful, I hope that you shortened the screws, too. Look at the picture above, what happened to my bass when moving the screws down too much.

White is really beautiful!!!! My red one was supposed to be... orange as it was written out of the cardboard box when it arrived!!! But I know: the manager of the paint department down in China is colorblind and he has a creative approach to the matter!!!
"Jay Turser & c." I am well aware there are tons of good hollows out there; but let's face it: the winning factor of the Eastwood Classic 4 is the faithful reproduction of a classic. If you want a Corvette... you want a Corvette, right? I personally desire deeply a Coronado reissue, a real replica (since in no way I will spend 2000 euro on E-bay for an original). But I would also be happy to get me an EB2, if re-edited!!!

You're supposed to use the thumb wheels to raise and lower the bridge, not the screws.
I'd rather have the floating bridge.
The Kay Pro (Howlin' Wolf) RI also uses the Hofner style bridge mounted directly to the body.
I want one in ANY color so bad. You guys are giving me such GAS! If only they came in 5 string! If they had a 5 my wallet would be open right now! I love the stuff by Eastwood anyway. And I haven't played short scale in some time now...which is another reason GAS is building!
If f-hole fever isn't part of your semi-HB gas you might like the Epi Rumblekat. They're made very well and more versatile. They resemble the Hofner Club in appearance.

The bass itself is quite deep and thumpy - not twangy. Beware of adjusting wobbly volume pots, one of mine broke on the spindle. The intonation to the top of the neck is ok, but not 100%. It can be a feedback monster, if you're too close to your rig. Looks cool - good solid sound.
I think the EastWood Classic 4 is a good graduation present para mi! It is cheap and sweet looking, and semi-hollowbodied. My dad loves the design of old Gretschs so I think he'd love to get me one of these. Oh and F holes are just cream on top!
