..so I'm getting bitten

Hey all

MJ5150: Thank you for the offer; I'll keep it in mind though I'm not sure if I can get the okay from my parents to bug bomb my room.

When I woke up this morning, I found what I believe were two new bites. This was a significant improvement on the several that I was getting the nights before. I think changing the sheets very frequently and vacuuming every couple of days might keep these critters under control. My mom isn't convinced that they're bedbugs, though the bite patterns look like ones that I google'd.

So changing the sheets/vacuuming might help keep whatever these bugs are under control, but is there any way to remove them permanently? My parents most likely will not let me bug-bomb the room, and certainly not hire an exterminator.

I've pretty much narrowed it down to two options:

1. Just keep vacuuming/cleaning/changing the sheets every few days, and live with the minimized number of bites.

2. Get out my sleeping bag and sleep downstairs.

Any more opinions/ideas?

Thanks a lot

Hey! I'm the one with this problem.

Got ya. Well, I'm freaked out now too, and nothing has even bit me. I watched the bed bug video, and I immediately started scratching my skin. I'll tear my bed apart and replace all the sheets before I get in tonight.

I'd go with a fogger if it was a problem in my house.

Wash *all* of your bedclothes with Lysol in the wash water, and spray your bed with it. (Make up a spray bottle with water and Lysol in it.) I mean spray the mattress, flip it, and spray that side, spray the box springs, too. It kills lice, it'll kill mites or whatever's in your bed. Then vacuum.

It helps if you can get your mattress out in the sun for a while, too. But I understand y'all are having weather, so just do the wash/spray with Lysol-and vaccuum thingie.

From a Texas mom who has killed lice, fleas, and ticks...

This works!

Cherie...who just got a call that the neighbor kids have lice. Great. My daughter was over there all day long. Sigh.

Man, am I glad I live in the northwest. It's too cold and wet for anything other than mosquitos, and we make sure that there isn't any standing water around, except our pond, which me keep stocked with small fish and frogs.

Any of you guys ever seen a banana slug? Ugliest creatures to ever slither the earth:

Remember, for sclae, that thing is about 4-6 inches long. Try stepping on one in your bare feet. You won't be able to get the gunk out for WEEKS!!:spit:

Rock on
