Met with Mike yesterday. The flame maple is beautiful and he found the perfect wood to contrast the wenge on the split fret board.

Hey Mike,
Can we do a side jack with the Nordy pre? Also, when we met and talked about doing a satin finish it seemed as though this surprised you. Do you think that the flame won't pop as well with the satin finish?

Both are completely doable, Chris!
The finishes that I am currently using are very pleasing to the eye for figures. It will be a couple more months until I am back south, but my current batch of instruments are in Justin's shop if you want to see similarly figured Maple in the epoxides.

^ Better hit that with some heavy sanding or a sharp scrapper Mikey. The surface looks to be a little fuzzy.

That, fellas, is a newly built ankle!
Today was the first time in a month that I was able to wash my foot. AND - if word gets out that all you have to do is keep your foot in a cast for a few weeks, then wash it vigorously - women may become obsolete.

Well Mr. Mike, congrats on the new build. I hope it's healing nicely and wish you well, Sir. If you remember, I actually got to see the finish on your Tele build. I just wondered what your thoughts were on doing satin.

The finish will be the same as Alembic's satin. If you peruse their site you'll see their finishes do figures justice in either satin or gloss.

Thanks Mike. I'll be looking forward to playing the hell out of it. I think thats most of the details, beyond knobs and wiring. I leave ya alone and try not chomp at the bit.
