Now I've mixed FOH for Prakash John five times we have become good friends. We hang. It's never a matter of me being his sound goddess, we're a big family.
I've looked up to Prakash since The Lincolns, and it was his playing that made me realize how limitless the bass can be.
Last night his fans did not let -20 and bad roads stop them, and Prakash played a stellar RnB revue, backing all three headliners. He was unstoppable.
Check out his work with Parliament/Funkadelic, James Brown, the Blues Brothers, and of course the masterpiece album 'Rock and Roll Animal' by Lou Reed.
This guy can dig a funk groove so deep, if your not dancing, you must be dead. My girlfriend was stage managing last night, and mentioned to him that she was only really familiar with his P/Funk work, and he dedicated Give Up the Funk to her. Cool.

I was always about the Hunter/Wagner duo on "R & R Animal", back when I played guitar. I recently downloaded it to my phone to listen to while walking my dog, and was floored, absolutely floored by Prakash John's bass work on that album.
